How do I get wireless internet on the G-NET Car PC / Industrial Vehicle Mounted Computer? |
The G-NET Car PC features a PCMCIA slot which allows you to use wireless PCMCIA modems such as the Sierra Wireless AirCard 750. Many of the major Canadian and US wireless networks now support the use of this card to access the internet. Another way to connect to the internet or other wireless network through the Car PC / Vehicle Computer's is to use an external wireless modem, or interface cable from the PC to your web-ready wireless phone. These adapter cables are available from your local wireless provider. The G-NET Industrial Vehicle Mounted Computer does not have a PCMCIA slot, but does have USB and serial expansion ports for the connection of an external modem or wi-fi device. The G-NET Industrial Vehicle Mounted Computer is also available with an optional integrated wireless lan card. Alternatively if you have a Bluetooth compatible phone and subscribe to a data access plan through your wireless provider you can easily add a Bluetooth adapter to the G-NET Car PC / Industrial Vehicle Mounted Computer which will allow you to use your mobile Bluetooth phone as a wireless modem. |

Does the Car PC / Vehicle Computer turn on and off with my vehicles ignition? |
The G-NET Car PC features an intelligent automotive power supply that works in the voltage ranges of 6-24V DC. When you turn the key to the ignition on position, the PC will automatically boot up. When you turn off the ignition the power supply will safely shut down the Windows operating system and then turn off the G-NET Car PC. The G-NET Car PC computer power supply can also be setup using an extended turn off delay, so the system will not shut down, when for example, you make a quick stop at the store. The G-NET Industrial Vehicle Mounted PC does not have an intelligent power supply, but does have a wide voltage input tolerance of 8-36V DC, which allows it to survive engine cranks and low voltage situations. The G-NET Industrial Vehicle Mounted Computer requires you to turn it on and off with the front mounted power button. |

Where can I get the G-NET Car PC / Industrial Vehicle Mounted Computer system installed, do you do installation as well? |
G-NET does not perform installations. However, we often refer you to the closest recommended installer. Installation is fairly straighforward and a basic install can be completed within a couple of hours if you follow the installation manual provided with the system. If you feel more confident having the unit "professionally" installed, then any reputable car audio shop in your area will easily able to do it for you. |

I already have an LCD in my car, will the G-NET Car PC work with it? |
Yes, if you already have a video LCD and do not want to add an extra LCD in your vehicle you can connect our system to it. The Car PC will interface with any LCD screen that has a composite video input (RCA), S-Video input or a VGA input. However you must keep in mind that because the screen you already own is most likely NOT a VGA screen, the quality and crispness of the image is not going to compare with the car PC VGA touch screen LCD's that we offer. |

I have an in-dash LCD head unit already from Kenwood, Clarion, Alpine, Eclipse etc. can the Car PC work with it? |
Yes, your LCD screen has an auxiliary input for video and audio. You can easily connect the video output of the Car PC to this input. However, please note that these in-dash video LCD's, although equipped with their own touch screens, will not be able to control the mouse cursor on the Car PC because they have no external touch screen interface for a PC to be connected to. You will be able to display video on them, but not use the touch screen portion of the screen when using it to display the Car PC output. Also, as mentioned in a previous question, the LCD found on these units is most likely NOT a VGA screen with a proper VGA input, therefore the quality and crispness of the image is not going to compare with the car PC VGA touch screen LCD's that we offer. |

Yes, we do offer multiple LCD configurations. You can purchase multiple video LCD's and display the same image throughout the car on each LCD. You can also purchase a VGA Touch screen and multiple video LCD's which give the driver touch control of the Car PC and allow the passengers to view the other video LCDs. You can also choose multiple video LCD's with one or more TV Tuners enabling the user to view the Car PC output or watch TV on each separate LCD. |

How do I go about connecting the G-NET Car PC / Industrial Vehicle Mounted Computer to my car audio system? If my deck does not have an input how can I use the system? |
Audio from the G-NET Car PC / Industrial Vehicle Mounted Computer can be easily connected to your existing audio system. You can run the audio output from the G-NET Car PC / Industrial Vehicle Mounted Computer to the input of your head unit (CD Deck), equalizer or amplifier. If your system has no audio input there is an FM modulator available for the G-NET Car PC / Industrial Vehicle Mounted Computer. An FM modulator will essentially take the audio signal from the G-NET Car PC / Industrial Vehicle Mounted Computer and broadcast it on an FM band that can be received by your current FM tuner. Alternatively there are some companies that offer a CD changer interface module, that allows you to replace your factory CD changer with an auxillary input box that "fools" your OEM stereo headunit into thinking a CD changer is attached, and instead allows you to connect an auxillary audio device such as an in car pc. |
